Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
Barça revealed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Bilbao team in La Liga two and a half years after they moved out for construction to commence.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed finished work included a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barcelona held a public practice inside the stadium in early November. The club said they were hoping for permission from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
